Honda CB150R ExMotion: All you need to know

The Japanese automaker Honda recently launched the production version of the Honda CB150R, known as the Honda CB150R ExMotion. It is built on the company’s new ExMotion design principle and flaunts a naked sporty look. It is a beautifully styled, high-performance bike with small engine capacity.

 

The new bike has been launched in the Thailand market and is also expected to make its way to India through the 2018 Auto Expo. It looks similar to the Honda 150SS Racer, as both are underpinned on the same platform. It is a road-oriented bike and is stylishly built to attract mass buyers. Moreover, the body proportion of the bike looks similar to the popular Yamaha FZ.

Design Features

The latest motorcycle from the Japanese manufacturer is designed perfectly to attract the young riders. Upfront, it features a single LED headlight, turn indicators and a digital LCD instrument cluster with multi-function feature. The side profile of the bike looks way too impressive with multiple creases and flowing lines on the fuel tank. Moreover, the presence of 17-inch alloy wheels add sportiness to the look. An LED tail-light is present at the rear end.

 

The bike offers a ground clearance of 139mm with a comfortable seat height of 795mm. It weighs only 123 kg, which aids to a faster speed along with improved fuel-efficiency. On the suspension front, the bike features an upside down forks up front, while it comes with monoshock suspension at the rear. Both the wheels are equipped with a disc brake each, while it is assisted by an optional Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), limited to the top-end variants only.

Colour Themes

The colour options for the new motorcycle are divided into two parts, one is the standard version without ABS and the other with ABS. The first variant offers the colour options of Mat Laurel Green, Millennium Red, Pearl Cadet Gray and Asteroid Black Metallic. On the other side, the models with ABS will offer two colour schemes – Grey-Black and Black.

Power Mechanism

The CB150R ExMotion comes with a 149 cc single-cylindrical, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected DOHC engine, which is capable enough to churn out a maximum power output of 16.8 bhp at 9,000 revolutions per minute against a peak torque of 13.7 Nm at 7,000 revolutions per minute. The power produced is transmitted to the wheels via the six-speed manual transmission.

A strong 150 cc naked bike

When launched, the Honda CB150R will stand as a strong contender in the 150cc naked bike segment, against the rivals like Suzuki Gixxer and Bajaj NS160. The new product from the popular manufacturer is expected to be received well in the Thailand market, where the demands for naked bikes are huge. Moreover, it will also be available in some South East markets. Its day in India is also expected to come soon.
